Well, from the picture it looks like the rail on the gas block assy is a waste of $$ as the light blocks the use of it.

I like the Magpul trigger guard better than RRA's winter guard.

Ergo grip is a plus over the Hogue for those with longer fingers/palms (I put one on my RRA Elite CAR A4).

Comes with 5ea 30rd mags.

How is a light and a vertical grip worth $543?

BTW, RRA Lists it at $2,880!

I like it, but I would rather assemble the components that I want.

Vortex, Vltor collapsible, Larue components, etc....

Nice for someone that wants one ready to go from the factory.

You owe me a new keyboard after I spit Dr. Pepper all over it just now!

That said, thats quality gear, but you could put it together yourself for less.

An interesting mix of quality kit and cheap shit, all stuck on a rifle with a 1/9 barrel and not a magnafluxed part in sight.

I bet you wouldnt be able to stop any threat with that

I better contact the owner of this rifle and let him know to stop using it at work.

Thanks for the heads up......that crappy gun could have gotten me killed

Lol, I'm not saying RRAs are crap, I like mine. Just that if they are going to ask that kind of money, they are going to have to earn it.

I saw that same rifle at a local gun shop. A customer ordered it and never came by to get it. They wanted $2300 for it... Me thinks RRA is marking up just a tad....Sweet rig tho' nonetheless. I agree that u could build it for a bit less....Good Luck!!!

What happens if you get shot in the chest by and AR15 that is 1/9 and not magnafluxed? Does it hurt less? I need to understand what you're saying

I agree it would be cheaper to do it yourself, just wanted to hear some other opinions. That said, does anyone know if RRA ever does any barrels in 1/7? I wonder if they allow you to "tweak" this rifle like you can with the others? Maybe strip it down a bit.

I would never pay that for an AR, unless it was a high precision rifle.

On a slightly more serious note, how is that upper doing for you?

I love it, Brother. I would highly recommend the UTE 2 (to anyone that knows that all they'll put on the gun is a non-magnified electronic red dot......it's also a great set up for new shooters who want to get into defensive shooting, but want to learn their irons prior to upgrading to an Aimpoint or EO Tech).

Take care and stay safe!

BTW...the forward rails aren't on the gas block...they're the extended sides and bottom of the Daniels 12.0FSPM quadrail.

I'm not a fan of those new rails that go around the gas block, but to each his own.

For what you're getting, I think that's some excellent kit!

Take that and the DEA special rifle, and RRA is offering two excellent "ready to go" rifles that I'd be happy to carry into harms way any day.

I happen to prefer slightly different parts, but if you wanted a complete rifle from the 'get go', these are great.

As for cheap parts, what are you talking about? Every piece on there is quality. I happen to not like heavy contoured barrels, and it being a RRA rifle, it probably has a heavy barrel profile. But that doesn't mean it's not quality. I'd prefer a Phantom or Vortex, but that doesn't mean the RRA brake isn't a decent part. It has yet to be tested. Surefire M910, Aimpoint, Ergo grip, DD rail... which of these are cheap parts?

PLENTY of people have paid that and MORE over time for their current rifles. This way you get it all at once (and pay for it all at once!) Add in the shipping on each part, and I can see someone paying $2800 for the convenience.

Let's see:

RRA rifle: $850
DD rail: $300
Surefire M910: $600
Aimpoint and mount: $400
Ergo grip: $30
Arms #40: $100
4 30rd mags*: $50
Front sight: $100
Badger Tac Latch: $20
Winter Trigger Guard: $20
RRA Tac Brake: $25
MWI Front Sling Mount: $30
MWI CAR Sling mount: $30
Eagle Discreet Case: $50
RRA 2-stage NM trigge: $80

*I used 4, since one usually comes with the rifle.

That comes to $2685, but I'm not sure about the prices I threw up there. They were just best guesses. Add in shipping for several of those parts, and maybe a gunsmith's fee for installing the DD rail, and you're pretty close. Sure, you could build it for less, and it would be specific to YOUR needs/wants, but this is a pretty decent package price.

The NM 2 stage trigger comes standard on all new RRA rifles and the Car- a4 is listed at adcofirearms.com for 759. So if you subtract $150 from your estimate the ELITE model does not look like such a great deal after all.
