I have a 5" 9mm SBR with a huntertown arms guardian 9. Trying to decide between a 9" and 7" rail to cover the suppressor.

Which do you have?

Probably doing the Rainier Arms Evo Keymod in either length..

Have a pic of either length?

I have a kings armament uxr4.   I posted in the picture thread.   I like it.  Only problem is that I want to put some rail covers on them an most keymod rail covers suck except for Noveske ones.  They don't fit.

I have a similar set up, 4.5" Adco barrel and a 9" Spikes BAR2.  Originally I had a 7" version but I found it was just too short and didn't look right, the 9" looks much better.

Could potentially go with a 10" but certainly not shorter than 8"

What suppressor is that? (To judge length).

I've got an Octane 45 in Jail right now...

What threads did you do on the Adco Barrel and how did the Octane mount to it???

I'm guessing you used a 9mm Piston adapter with 1/28 Threads???

If you had to do it again, would you go with the 4.5" or the 5"??? or does the 1/2" make such difference?

Also,  what do you think about this barrel vs the TROS with the 3 Lug deal???

I've posted this same picture a few times and I'm sure some people are sick of seeing it, but since it is almost exactly what you asked for..... Guardian 9 with fixed barrel adaptor, Adco 5" barrel and 9" Rainier Force.

Also,  what do you think about this barrel vs the TROS with the 3 Lug deal??? I haven't seen a TROS in person and I wasn't waiting 6 or 8 months to get one.

Thanks for sharing that.

I went with a 7" (mostly because I couldnt find a 9" in stock) rainier arms force.

I like it a lot.

Thanks for the input.

I thought a ~7" handguard (or slightly less) looked more proportional with the narrower magwell.  I also wanted something to look more like an mp5sd.  Unfortunately, I don't have a pic with the can and I'm on the road.

What upper is that? It looks like the 9mm gas deflector is built into the upper.

What is your OAL from end of barrel threads to back of upper receiver? Trying to figure out what OAL would be for my set up using same barrel.

Thanks

Which Noveske muzzle device is that? I was under the impression they didn't make one for 9mm.

I assume he thinks your barrel is threaded 1/2x36.  I am guessing it's 1/2x28.

5" adco 3 lug barrel, 1/2x28 -> 3 lug adapter from title ii arms, 1/2x28 kx3, 6.35" ddles handguard.  You can read some details on using the kx3 with 9mm here.  I wouldn't just pop it on and shoot without measuring and checking alignment first. http://3gn.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=3&f=15&t=651875

I really dig the DDLES handguard. It's a shame what's happened to them...

MP5SD always a good choice of inspiration!

I'm still hoping that qc10 starts making the handguards.  I assume they own the IP.

Thanks.  That clarifies the KX3 and it is now something to consider for my build.
