First off, thanks for looking

Yesterday I got my hands on a large quantity of Hornady 223 75gr TAP BTHP and 308 168gr TAP BTHP. The 223 came from two lots, some of it is a few years old-but most of it is brand new in sealed cases.

For the hell of it I was looking at some of the loose rounds and they didn't appear to have a cannelure. My suspicions were confirmed when I took one apart:

I was under the impression that TAP does have a cannelure, so what gives? Does the new ammo have it? Do you have to specify when you order it? I'm a little reluctant to open a sealed case to find out. If it doesn't I'd like to return it. In the past I haven't had very good luck with non-cannelured ammo, particularly in my older Colts and Bushies that don't have M4 feedramps.

Do any of you guys use this stuff in quantity? I'm hoping that it's just a matter of old vs new. I suppose I can break open a case to find out, but I'd rather not if I can help it. Once the case is opened it cannot be returned.

Thanks in advance!!
