Have a Bushmaster HBar 16" A1 upper Post-Ban.  Purchased used.  Has a threaded hole on the back lower part of the front sight below the barrel.  Hole is above sling swivil conection.  Anyone know what this is for?

The hole is how they drill the hole for the gas block.  They are sometimes tapped and a set screw is used to hold the FSB in place while the holes are drilled/reamed for the taper pins.
