Who makes the pistol grip that the real SPR uses?

And, is it just me or does the Samco G-27 look stupid on an AR?

What do you guys consider to be the best grip for an AR?

In theory the Ergo-grip, but Ive seen the standard A2s on the guns in use.

I agree with what Lumpy said. Of all the pictures in which I can see the grip, all have been the standard A2. I guess you could use whatever grip you wanted. But if you are after a real production, you might ask Wes @ MSTN. He seems to know quite a bit about SPRs.

Wes uses the Sierra Precision SPR grip. I have never asked him but I have no idea if that grip is used by the military or not. I got out before all of these new wonderful toys were being issued.

SPR grip is not used by the military as a standard issue item. The A2 is the only issue grip I am aware of. The G27 does not look stupid on an AR, the pachmayr and 1911 grips look stupid on an AR. At this time I think its the best grip for an AR that is ambi but I wish it didnt have the finger grooves and had a better storage compartment. A thicker Tango Down with beavertail is the perfect grip to me but it does not exist yet.
