Other than the guys at Sabre, I think I can say with all confidence that no one on ARFCOM has handled more Sabre barrels than me.

Sabre went the Vanadium route for the exact reason chris157c  said; they can make a stronger barrel that will last longer than any 4140 commercial barrel on the market.
As far as accuracy goes, it depends. A stainless steel match barrel will shoot better than a CMV barrel and that will shoot better than a CMV barrel with chrome-lining.  Because we work so much with professionals, 90% of what we sell are chrome lined barrels. Depending on the ammo and the shooter, we get reports from .75 to 1.5 MOA groups from our chrome lined mid-lengths.  For a battle ready barrel, that is all we ask. What we want is a barrel that is reliable and accurate and Sabre delivers.

RRA builds a great commercial upper. Talon Arms is a RRA dealer allthough we do not try to sell them on ARFCOM as the market is too saturated.  If you are looking for a 1/9 twist basic upper, it will serve you well. The Sabre mid-length you have heard about on  ARFCOM is probably our custom upper. We had Sabre build us a 1/7 twist with M4 extensions. We have sold a few hundred barrels and uppers to guys on this website. It is more of a "mil-spec" type barrel.  Sabre machines their own upper and lower receivers now. The quality is as at least as good as anything coming out of CMT (they make receivers for RRA). I can't say anything bad about Stag/CMT at all. We do sell a fair amount of their uppers as well.
Basicly, it breaks down like this: If you are only going to shoot 55 to 62gr ammo on a semi-auto lower, the RRA will be fine. If you want to be able to shoot 55 to 80gr ammo including tracers or you shoot on a full-auto lower, the 1/7 with M4 feedramps will be a better choice.

As far as my recommendation goes, I can't say enough good things about them. We don't just sell Sabre, we use them! Here is my mid-length SDI

I've used SDI barrels on many uppers and I have one on my personal rifle.  It's a great barrel.  Rob is a great dealer to buy from.  He is the primary SDI dealer on the boards.
