You'll have to remove the whole barrel nut.
If you want to avoid all that, I recommend the Centurion C4 handguard. Just snip off the delta ring assembly and front handguard cap, and put on the handguard. It uses the stock barrel nut.

Hammer, 1/8 drift pin punch, armorer barrel nut wrench, MI handguard removal tool, MI jam nut wrench, flash hider wrench, upper receiver block Don't see how some of you guys can be ready to drop $150 on a quad rail and not read the page you're buying it from. |

Guess I am worse I spent $200
