You bought 1999 production Winchester made in the USA M193. The Q3131 was generally regarded as fine ammo, but there were some lots loaded in 1999 that were really, really hot and caused some problems in some rifles. I'm sorry I can't recall the exact lots in question, but I'm sure Troy will be along soon to provide those.

BTW, this was the M193 equivalent ammo Winchester sold to the public until their days of running the Lake City plant ended. After ATK/Federal took over there, Winchester started getting IMI to produce M193 spec ammo for them to sell to the civilian market. That's when Q3131A became available.

Oh, one more thing, M193 spec ammo does not typically get a NATO stamp on it, because M193 was never a NATO standard. The only reason XM193 has a NATO circle/cross on it is because the cases were intended for use with M855/SS109, which is the NATO standard. They just happen to load M193 into those cases for practical reasons.

I paid $4.49 / box + IL Sales Tax (.0625%)
I couldn't get the store owner to deal on big numbers.
I got 23 boxes. That's all he had on the shelf.
He says he has more at home.
