Haven't seen any Q3131A for at least a few months.  The dealers who carried it have switched over to the USA manufactured Q3131.  Haven't seen IMI M193 for at least a year and a half.

You might find some here on the Equipment Exchange or at sites like gunbroker.com.

Would $250.00 +tax be too much for 1000rds of '03 Q3131A?  I can get almost 2000rds from a local store.  They broke two cases open and put the 20rd boxes on the shelf.

This would be for stash not plinkin' fodder.

Yes its to much.  Especially considering the iffy performance of some lots towards the end of the old run.

New manufacture Q3131 can be found for $220 shipped to your door.  Sportsmand Warehouse here sells it for about $200 for 1000 with tax included.

Anyone that has paid attention to this forum, knows & understands the difference between
A) Q3131 and  Q3131A
B)  stash and plinkin' ammo
C)  may not get for a few years and I can getsumnow!!!!
D)  Hey, gas went up @ 50% for awhile and is going to work important if the only way I can get there is to drive my SUV

wish to chime in?

And when did Q3131A from 2000-2003 have any problems?

Thanx,

Dave S

Christ you know what I was talking about.  There is no real disernable difference between Q3131A and Q3131.  If anything there is evidence that Q3131 is hotter then A.  Dont get happy in your pants just because they have some ammo that isnt made anymore.  Save your money and get new production ammunition that is the equivalent or better.

Dont ask for advice and then get mad at it.

Hey Dace, I stand corrected.

I haven't scoped out the Oracle in a few years... it has changed.

Before, there were statements that Q3131 was USA manf'd but not mil-spec or even sealed.

Now it says that both are mil-spec and "perhaps indistinguishable" to LC M193.

Thanks for your post.  It made me look back at the Oracle BUT

da-da-damn, I thought it was only the Libs rewriting history.

Again, thanx Dace.

I had tried Q3131 a few years back, my rifle wouldnt even cycle with it. But the Q3131A and the IMI M193 worked perfect.  Is the newer Q3131 better?

I would switch to it, but my DCM rifle is very picky about what will work in it.

Damm! Anybody know why the supply on this stuff has dried up so quick? This stuff and the IMI M193 works great, and its priced right. Any good substitutes for this that are around now?

Anybody remember the days when IMI M193 could be had for $179 shipped from Cole Distributing for 1200 rounds? Miss the good old days.

Nah, they only sell reloads. Got to be another M193 load around. I didnt think the war effort would put such a strain on commercial ammo production. But with Winchester and Federal being the only contractors making mil ammo, it would figure that these are the only cheaper rounds that will work well in my AR.

Thank Clinton for shutting down all the ammo arsenals except for Lake City, which BTW is run by Federal.
