The instructions just state to install to 30ft pounds w/ crush washer.

Mine has the flaming pig on one side and factory lettering on the opposite. I installed it to 30ft lbs and then turned it a bit more so the bolt flats and the pig/lettering are perfectly verticle when the upper is mounted in my vice. It looks great, the only thing that threw me is that the barbwire cutting groove in the front of the hider is now diagonal. Does any of this really matter?

Ears! open sir...No I said EARS...OPEN SIR!!!!!!!!!!

The KX3 doesn't need to be timed. Having the pig & log horizontal to the deck is purely user option. The barb cutter position on KX3's will vary from what I've seen. Mine were almost horizontal, but it doesn't matter where they line up.
