MD-RB-AD is pretty tough and seems to be holding up well to shotgun usage. It was designed to be shotgun rated for pumps, semis, the works. My friend Lee teaches shotgun classes with his, and I ping him occasionally and ask if it's still holding zero. Last time I talked to him he was approaching 1000 rounds of high brass 00 buck and slugs through his setup.
That being said, we don't really claim that MD-RB-AD is a legit competitor to the MRO. There is no question that the MRO is the tougher optic, but of course it costs more than twice as much before you even get to paying for mounting options. I personally find the blue tint in the field of view to be excessive in the MRO, our little red $150 dot has less blue tint in my opinion. If the MRO had the same clarity as, say, an Aimpoint T1 or T2, I would be all over it. Just one man's opinion. We stock the MRO at
Primary Arms, here they are so I'm not bashing the Trijicon product at all, if you decide on it I hope you buy one from us. Happy shooting whatever you choose.
