Hello. I was curious as to what configuration of precision iron sights are being used by people with their AR15's? I have used a rear sight with a .042 aperture and a .050 front sight post on my sights and loved them. I am able to place almost all of my hits relatively easily within a 6 inch target at 200+ yards. What do you use and prefer for precision shooting with your iron sights?

Thanks for this post, I want to stay iron with this gun and I was wondering about changing aperture. Steve

One thing you can do, is get a set of Merchants' target inserts for the large aperture, available through Brownells. They allow a MUCH more precise sight picture. www.brownells.com

Thanks for the input on Merchant's from Brownell's - Have you tried these, I was thinking of going with the A2 Competition "Flip" sight from Bushmaster with the micro-aperture inserts. Steve

I have one in mine right now. I have a spare one (the smallest of the 3 that come in the kit), and if you want, IM or e-mail me your address, and I'll send it to you. That way, if you like it, you can save a few bucks, or if it's just a tad TOO small, you can order the set from Brownells, and know what you're getting. Either way, it's cheaper than the screw-in inserts.

Zardox - Many thanks for the offer, give me a little time to figure out what I am going to do, the smaller aperture is probably the one I would use. Regards, Steve
