So I was at the range yesterday and was shooting off a pack. My 2 usgi mags were fine and the first pmag was fine. My last mag I had 6 ftf ( all the way ) it would strip the round but bolt wouldn't go all the way home. I figured this out after checking for light primer strikes and there were no strikes at all. I took the rifle off the pack and shot from the shoulder and all fired fine. Seems my p Mag is jamming when putting pressure on the bottom . Does anyone have this same problem. Smash this pmag ? The lower is a Lmt.

Here's a pic of the rife Because you people like pics. ( it's not of the problem , just the rifle)

Mags wear out so if it's not working you can try stretching or replacing the springs.
Option two is to replace it.

Call Magpul, they may replace it under warranty.

I only have problems with my 20 round pmags. I get FTF problems with the last couple of rounds in the magazine.

Don't use you mags for a rifle rest. You're just asking for malfunctions if you do.

And by the way, for everybody else the reads this, when guys say "FTF' or FTE', do the realize that they can be referring to  different types of malfunctions?? FTF can mean Fail to FIRE or Fail to FEED. 2 different types of malfunctions that require different immediate action requirements to get up and running. Same goes with 'FTE'. That can mean Fail to EXTRACT or Fail to EJECT. Specify which it is.

I use PMAGs with ranger plates as a rest on a bench all the time. Probably fired well over a thousand rounds that way between 6 different PMAGs...nothing but smooth shooting thus far.

So I just went and examined all my mags and it seems all 10 pmags when pressure is put on them slow the bolt down. As compared to my USGI 20rd mags none of them do it. But in my other Ar all the mags fit fine and dont have the problem. So I looks like 20rds front here on out.

Viking Tactics' Kyle Lamb would disagree with that statement.
This is generally a mag issue, try replacing the mag.

I also rest on my mags in 3gun often as well as a number of other shooters without issues.  If we do, find another mag.

As would a multitude of other highly-respected instructors.  Every AR-related class I've been to or watched has recommended decking the mag when prone.  If it causes problems there is something wrong with the gun or mag.  With a 9mm or .22 conversion the results might be different, but with regular rifle mags it should never be an issue.

Kyle Defoor, Northern Red and Larry Vickers teach to use the mag as a mono-pod.  You got a bad mag or a out of spec lower.
