i was cleaning my AR and when i had everything back together i noticed a little play around the Handguard Slip Ring. it seemed to be moving the barrel as well. is this normal?

I can't tell if your delta-ring is moving or not.but see if you can turn the barrel. If the barrel is moving DON'T SHOOT IT!! but if it's just the hand-guards I wouldn't worry too much about it. It might be a loose barrel-nut,just tighten it up and you'll be gtg.

easy way to tell if the barrel is loose, is to grab the upper reciever itself with one hand and grab the barrel at the fsb with the other hand and twist.

if i hold the upper tight and just try to move the barrel they same movement in the video occurs...really hating the people who put it together right now

is this something i can tighten with my barrel wrench or should i take it in to a competent gunsmith?

look at the build it yourself section and read up on it .see if you are up to pulling gas tube,removing barrel nut and inspecting upper for wear.

thanks guys, i got it tightened and what a huge difference in my aim.
