Hey y'all, need some help.
'Been shooting my Bushmaster (Flat top, Shorty, AK brake, fixed front sight :( ) for about 4 years now, pretty much in it's original configuration, but for the following basic mods:
- Tac-Sling (ASPI)
- Hogue Grip
I've earmarked a few bucks for this month to do some long awaited accessorizing to her, and I'd like you to help me spend my loot (about 1k, +/-, hopefully minus!)
I intend to use this rifle primarily in a "recreational-tactical" capacity, such as casual weekend comps, and Front Sight training courses. I'm not a L.E.O., and I don't intend to use it for Home D.
So here's what I think I need, and I'd appreciate any recommendations for specific mfr. parts (e.g., whose vertical fore-grip is best, etc.)
-Rail system for forend
-Forend mounted light
-Dot sight (thinking EO-Tech...?)
-Quality, 30 round mags
Thanks a bunch to all of you who take the time to help me out with this. BTW, I did use the search function rather extensively to try and answer some of these Q's, but the array of opinions was pretty staggering. I figured this might be a better way to get some suggestions...
Also, if you think I missed something, or my priorities are out of order, please comment.
In before the pictures of gold ARs and AKs
Midwest Industries #20
Tango Down Front grip
ARMS #40L or #40SP
30 Round mags with Magpul Followers
And switch the Hogue for a Magpul MAID
All the above are what I have and in my opinon are the best.
My eyes wish I hadn't clicked on this thread
Colt Bling Bling, nice but I need to wear my sunglasses.
Sounds like being from NY and the AK brake are going to limit your forend options... Too bad, I'd have suggested a LaRue or DD.
Yo, das PHAT!
I cannot believe my old friend Vito would hurt me so much. Onlythebestfirearms was my dealer and FFL for years when I lived in Florida.
Thanks for the couple of suggestions.
I don't think I'm gonna go for the bling look (my eyes hurt).
Keep 'em coming though, I'm gettin' ready to make the move. Wanna have my rig squared away for early April Front Sight course.
