The new Krink stayed on my AR pistol about two minutes, before I noticed my Zombie rifle over in the corner quietly weeping...

Overall view.

And backup rifle, AKA "walking varminter" w/ 1/12 twist Govt. profile barrel.

Thanks to Grant for the optics and LD toys.

Range session hopefully first thing in the morning.

The Krink will be run on the 18 inch Zombie rifle first, and if I can bring myself to TEAR DOWN that Sand Dune colored rifle I will evaluate it with a 10.25 AR pistol upper.  That "walking varminter" is papered as a handgun on the 4473.

And IIRC back in '93 I had cured a mild short stroking issue by clipping a coil or two from the pistol buffer operating spring.  The 10.25 runs a 0.070 gas port, so I hope to reinstall a full strength spring and duplicate the prior short stroking.  Then if the Krink boosts the gas system at all and cures the short stroking I will know it is really working...or at least feel better when I get out my drill bit to enlarge the port!

Darn, am I going to need two???  The Zombie rifle is crying again, thinking she will lose the Krink.

ARRGGHH!  No Krink for the Zombie rifle.  Installing it created about 4 FTE's in a normally reliable weapon, in only maybe 30 rounds.  Ejected distance DID increase from about 10 feet before to 12 feet after.

Groups were very round with the Krink.  I put my A1 FH back on, and saw stringing from high/left to low/right using EOTECH and irons from the bench.   Reinstalled the Krink, and round groups returned.

Subjectively, with the Krink on the noise level at the shooting position is reduced, muzzle jump gone, and recoil is pretty much straight rearward.  Without it, I have always noted the up/left jump during recoil/followthru.  Double taps are slightly faster with the Krink.

But the FTE's were the bastard hard to clear kind, with an empty case rechambered and a live round stuffed in behind!  TOO MUCH gas pressure is starting the bolt rearward, while the case is still clinging to the chamber walls, causing the extractor to slip off the rim.

Hey, I HAD to learn for myself, and now I know a little more than I did yesterday.  After reinstalling the A1, the Zombie rifle returned to 100% running like a clock.  I tried the Krink several times on the 18 inch barrel, and was able to create the identical jams each time before 10 rounds could be fired.

Pistol trials in the AM maybe.  Krink is a NO GO on my Zombie rifle.  But NOBODY said it belonged there in the first place...

Finally found #60 o-rings locally.  Someone mentioned Home Depot, and there they were, 10 in a package for about $1.97!

My Colt  bolt assy. turned out to still have the oem extractor installed, and in use for 10 years without issue.  Range testing after removing the Krink had it running 100% again, even with the old extractor still installed.  I threw a new extractor on it anyway, and will try the o ring also.  The Colt extractor spring DOES feel weak compared to what RRA uses.

It might be that the Krink was merely aggravating a weak/marginal extractor situation...
