I saw one of our brother's mid lengths with the club foot version and it looked sweet. But I always thought they were ugly. Anybody got any pics to inspire an individual who has yet to pick out his buttstock?

The club foot is there to help steady the rear of the rifle when on a bipod.  The other cool thing (and why I got my stock) is that it has cheek weld "humps" that double as waterproof storage compartments.

here's mine with the Vltor clubfoot.  I really like these stocks for the cheek weld and the compartments.  Plus they look sweet!

And this is the man who inspired me! show the pic!

I'd love to build one JUST LIKE THAT but i cant...its my first build and on a budget. the only thing im willing to splurge on is the buttstock. It's going to be a standard a2 M4gery

Its so your off hand can pull the rifle into your shoulder when shooting off a bipod or bench. It can really aid you in holding the rifle steady while you shoot, thus theoretically, improving accuracy.

Ok this brings up a question. Edwin here has a 14.5 which is an m4 length concerning handguards, but it looks like he has a CAR length sampson or whatever its called rail handguard minus the delta ring. How does that work? The car size stuff works but you x out the delta ring?

Not the best angle but thought I would post it anyway.

The clubfoot serves a purpose (off hand notch) even if only rarely used so IMO that puts it over the standard.

Seeing all the stocks makes me almost wish I still had my old VLTOR...I like the clubfoots, and the new batt tube caps are pretty sweet too.  I might have to get one again at some point; I hate this site.

I think this thread has inspired me to get a VLTOR Club Foot for my upcoming build.....this just keeps getting more and more expensive.

Yes, the delta ring is removed and the Samson (or Troy) rail clamps over it.

Who cares if they are ugly.  They have functional value for those that choose to use it.

I used to think the clubfoots were hideous, but theyre starting to grow on me.

I wasn't leaning towards this buttstock, until I came across this thread. I like the cheek welds and the storage is a great feature. Does anyone know if retailers sell this stock as a 'pinned'/NJ friendly version?

Yes they do make a non-collapsable model.

Ditto, now all of a sudden they look hot...kinda like that girl down the street syndrome. One day she just started looking....

When I shoot prone, I push the buttstock into my shoulder with my off hand, using the web between my thumb and pointer finger.  It makes for a decent cheek and shoulder weld, at least for me anyway.  Like I said, looks aside, some make use of the feature it provides.
