Anybody using a front flip sight on a 7" rail???

In any case, I removed my YHM flip sight/gas block and installed the Spectre gas block earlier today. Troy front BUIS will be in middle of next week.

Not my first choice for gas blocks but it actually doesn't look too bad installed.

It wasn't my first choice either, but it is currently the only two piece block available that I'm aware of. Since I wanted a rail mounted front sight, and I have a perminent muzzle brake, I know of no other options. I think I looks pretty good though. Another pic:

That gas block actually dont look half bad. The rest of the gun is awesome though.

very nice! although i think i would have went with the 9" rail and covered the gas block and put the front sight out there a few more inches. looks good though.

to be honest, i really like the way that looks. i was skeptical at first.

can you SBR in your state? that thing would be awesome with an 11.5" and a VLTOR VC-1

congrats, good job!

It looks good and its different.

For what its worth, YHM's flip site gas blocks are two peice for people with fixed FHs.

could of always had ADCO grind down and repark the frontsite base and then get the troy 10inch over it. thats what i did and love it

ETA, it was only 30 bucks too

That's what I did when I lived in NJ and had a perm brake, shaved the fsb myself, shot it with rustoleum black, put a Troy 10" rail on it. Took about an hour total with a dremel and allen wrench.

I would have done that mod myself with the Dremel, but since I already completly removed the FSB before, and had the 7" Troy I needed other options.

Thanks for all the kind words.

It's nice to know all of my efforts have paid off.

That AR has gone through numerous transformations over the last 12 or so years.

Thanks!
SBR in CT is GTG for a fee, as far as I know.

I really like the look of it too. Like others have said not the prettiest gas block but it fits with the whole look of the AR.
Do you have any pics of the whole weapon?
