I'm going to add either an EOTECH, OKO or AIMPOINT to my Bushy 20" A3, Mostly I'm leaning toward EOTECH. Can you please post any setup you're sporting that has an EOTECH attached. Thanks

Just as soon as my membership upgrade is approved, I'll post a pic of my humble new 6920HB with EOTech 552, GG&G MAD, GG&G UFIR, and KAC VFG. Be on the lookout. I'm quite excited about posting my first rifle pics :) I haven't fired it yet with all the new goodies attached, but from first inspection, the EOTech cowitnesses perfectly with the GG&G MAD and existing front iron sight. My UFIR, KAC vertical grip, tactical latch, hogue grip, and buttstock pad should all arrive tomorrow and then I'll have one bad ass looking machine... well, not so bad ass compared to the many I've seen here, but bad ass enough for me to start. You guys are turning me into an OCD AR nutcase and I won't stop unitl it looks scary enough where I just have to point it and make people quiver in their pants... ok, I'm exaggerating a bit, but I cant help my excitement.

Does anyone have an EOTECH installed on a fullsize A3?

What's more important to you, function or looks? Just have to wonder, since there's a ton of pics here already, yes, none are exactly your gun........

I've noticed alot of these pics seem to have Eotechs located between the receiver rail and the forend rail... is that an optimal placement for some reason? Or is this just a way to show off the fact that you have a rail that won't wiggle and is indexed properly?

I've also seen pics of EOtechs mounted very far forward on the handguard top rail, like you see people do with Trijicon reflex sights occasionally. What are the differing concepts in mounting the optic in different places?

Also, what is the point of using the LaRue mount when the EOtech mounts right on the picatinny rail by itself? To gain a little height on the optic while still allowing the iron sights to co-witness?

I was pretty pleased with mine, that is until I seen all these other sweet setups above.

Skully, that's an interesting HK-style BUIS. Where's that from?

Its not a 'show off' thing. When you use a BUIS it pushes the Eotech forward for 2 reasons. 1: you need to make room for the BUIS, and 2: you have to have room to turn on the Eotech w/o the BUIS being in the way. More importantly tho, is function.... As an Eotech is moved forward on the rail, the 65 M.O.A. ring gets larger and when the optic is mounted like most of these pictures show seems to be the preferred spot for most users.

Yes, some people have Eotechs mounted very far forward, but I think its best to keep it as far back on the receiver as possible.

Umm, is there any level of magnification at all on any EOtech models, no matter how slight...

Nope

They've got a Fixed magnification "add-on" that will mount behind the EO coming out. Same for Aimpoint.

Love the EOTech. Large FOV compared to my previous ML2.

No A2 upper set ups?

All I see are flat top configs....and a few red "X" pics.

I have a 16" CAR that I am tempted to EOTECH it....but don't know where to begin, or how it would look.

Mounting a 1x optic further forward generally makes it easier to use it with both eyes open. You'll spend less time looking at the reticule and more time focusing on the target.

Also, what is the point of using the LaRue mount when the EOtech mounts right on the picatinny rail by itself? To gain a little height on the optic while still allowing the iron sights to co-witness?

Four reasons
1) Fast on/off with the throw lever
2) Better Return to Zero
3) More Secure (some people forget that extra 1/4 turn after finger tight....)
4) and yes to rais the optic higher while still allowing co-witness. This means there is less 'clutter' in the window.

When you say full size, I'm assuming you mean a 20" rifle? If so, there is a reason you wont see Eotechs on them very often...

An Eotech is an excellent choice for close in optics (>100yrds). For longer ranges, there are better options (i.e. Trijicon would be my choice). Most people looking for a CQB or plinking gun (where an Eotech excels) go for either a 14.4" or 16" barrel. People with 20" barrels generally have them setup primarily for longer ranges so usually have something other that an Eotech or Aimpoint mounted.
