Wondering what the first parts to go usually are?  How many rounds is a chrome lined barrel good for?
Much appreciated.

Hmmm, I'll take a stab...I'd say the firing pin retaining pin, extractor claw and gas rings would be among the fist small parts to break/wear.   I personally have had an extractor claw break on a relitively new rifle (defective part maybe?) and I just recently replaced a FPRP that was worn and bent.  It's a good idea to keep these type of small parts on hand.

What about barrel life?

an easy 10,000, if not more. Barrel life depends on how well you care for your gear and what group size at distance you consider junk.
