I am probably going to purchase a PSA Complete Lower Receiver.
I have purchased ammo from PSA before but never actually one of their rifles.

GTG? or FO?

Any insight who makes them for them, ?

Thanks Guys.

I hate to say it but how many times will this question be asked?

Typically stripped lowers are the same. The internals matter more

I ordered a blem complete lower during a Weekend sale. Got it the other day and ran a few hundred rounds with it.....The newer PSA lowers are from LW Schneider and are LW marked. They have another SC marked lower as well. Anyway notes

* Drops Pmags and USGI mags freely. 20/30 round usgi and 20/30/40 round Pmags tested

* I paid $199 shipped and transferred. It took 10 days.

* the blem is laughable, I'll take the savings

* trigger is smooth for a GI. Has a slightly longer reset than my worn Colt. Takedown pins were smooth, very little play between 6920 lower and a DDm4v7 upper ( does not matter to me anyway but does to some)

* Overall I'm impressed. Of course mine is a sample of one, but everything seems GTG.

Comparison pics for fun.

Yep, that's when I bought a LPK with it for $40 and a 7075 buffer tube for $15. Good times.

I dont mind the lower I bought from them and the first LPK was decent but the trigger on the most recent LPK I bought from them is absolutely horrible. It feels like its lined with 80 grit sand paper.

T

Their lowers are currently $60, and they still have that lower parts kit sale from time to time, it just goes fast. While I don't see the buffer tube for that cheap I see a whole buffer tube kit for $40. Just saying, the deals are still out there. If I had to guess they will just get better as demand continues to slow down, knock on wood.

On a separate note their deals on ammo are pretty good. At the prices their selling those spam can's I'm wishing I didn't sell off my AK-74

I believe the LW serial numbered lowers are made by LW Schnieder (usually Fire/Safe marked, rear take down not 440 threaded). the AP serials were from Aero Precision (picto markings and rear take down was 440 threaded).

Not sure if Aero is still making the picto lowers for them or not. I will have to check but my older picto lowers from them are different than the newer ones and the rear take down was not threaded.

As for the lowers themselves, GTG. I have not had any issues with them.

Does anyone know if the "PSA AR-15 Complete Blem Lower" is made with a 7075-T6 or 6061 receiver extension? The description lists them as "Milspec diameter Receiver Extension" but makes no mention of the type of aluminum used.

I bought a few stripped PSA Blem lowers over the years and they were in spec. When I assembled them they went together easy and have functioned through thousands of rounds. Hell you can't even see the blemish on two because it's inside the magwell.

I have a blem lower from last year that i am putting together right now. I had a really hard time finding the blemish. I recently got one of there blem uppers. It wad alot more beat up but im not to worried about it becuase i want to coat this gun.
Blems are popping up once a week or so for 60 bucks. If i wasnt in the middle of this build i would pick up another

I have bought 6 blem lowers over the last couple years. When they were 50-70 each. I have no zero issues with them. I normally cant even find the blem. I think I am gonna order some more.
Link Posted: 10/26/2013 7:32:43 AM EST
Yep, G2G. Just ordered 4 more of the blemished lowers.

Exactly you never know what you are getting with these guys. I would rather spend $250 and buy a spikes or a stripped a nd put it together myself.

Nice thread, especially the pics, I am on the fence as to whether I am going to hit there weekend sale for a couple of the blems, I have a couple lowers in reserve but for $59 a piece and no real noticeable defect they are hard to pass on.

Go forth with confidence........ they are GTG!

Besides a Rockwell hardness test or perhaps a long term corrosion test how can a person tell the difference between the two materials. Is one material pointedly better in performance than the other?

Link Posted: 10/26/2013 10:58:36 AM EST
Just ask PSA. The 7075 should* resist damage more if you drop the rifle hard or need to mortar it during a serious malfunction. It's inconsequential for most shooting situations, but some like to have that bit of extra insurance for their hard use guns.
Link Posted: 10/26/2013 11:41:59 AM EST
My $50 one was easy to put together, in spec, and finish was good enough for my liking.
