Well not so much the rifle.. Hopefully I'm posting in the right section..  I'm pretty content with my AR rifle at the moment. Something I was very interested in though was painting my accessories. For example I have an AFG Magpul and MOE Magpul Stock, what would be the best way to go about selecting the right paint? Looking for insight on the subject. Is painting even a viable option? I wanted a desert tan look so for now I want these two items painted. I also plan on buying an aftermarket pistol grip and a new set of rail covers. I really hate the magpul ''snap together'' rail covers, but that's another thread.

Thanks. Krylon looks like a great idea. Now, contradictory to what I might have suggested in my first post I will not be painting my actual rifle, just the accessories. This AR is purely range / plink. From what the "How-to" post suggests Krylon isn't durable. Can I count on it for my use? The use will include outdoors on a lease with a few hundred rounds fired through it, maybe on a lease during a hog/varmint hunt, and the range.

The Specific items will include: rail covers, stock, pistol grip (Maybe), AFG. (Angled fore grip.)

I vote Krylon, too.  I sprayed a S&W M&P15-22 magazine with Krylon and it turned out great.  There is some wear where it rubs when inserting it in to the mag well but other than that it has been durable.
