ETA: I am thinking of putting one of these on a build or leaving the barrel plain. See a couple of posts down for the LaRue upper I am thinking of.

Being in NYS and stuck with a version of the old federal ban I can't have flash hiders. I am thinking of a build with one of these Flash Suppressing Compensators from Primary Weapons Systems. It was classified as a brake by BATF and is good to go in NY.

How loud is this sucker going to be? What are your other thoughts on it?

I'm not 100% on putting this on a post ban.

The ATF letter is great, and could be entered as evidence in your favor at trial...

.... but a NY DA can find differently and that's all that matters.

I'm putting one on a preban I have though.

Thanks for the link...I thought I saw that somewhere.

I know what you are saying chapper...I do have reservations about that.

The upper I am thinking of is the 20" version of this: LaRue Link

I guess the real debate I am having is if I should put anything on there or ask La Rue to make one with plain target crown, no muzzle device or threads.
