PSA has a 6.8 SPCII, mid gas, 1:11 twist FN chrome barreled, upper right now for $299.
These are known to be decent shooters.
Aim surplus has a $99 6.8 bolt carrier group as well.
Add your choice of charging handle and you can be in a complete 6.8 SPCII upper for as little as $420 + shipping

PSA 6.8 deal

I like it. However, I have a 18" ss PSA 6.8 upper that I bought a year ago. Maybe I will sell my current model and buy this. I like the shorter barrel for brush hunting.

I've been looking for an opportunity to re-enter the 6.8 world for a light weight hunter...this might be what I've been looking for.

Got the email flyer right after I bought a Daniel Defense 6.8 barrel. Already had a Stag carrier and bolt.
Oh well.

I have PSA 6.8 upper. No complaints. 16"

That's a good deal, but I'd rather have a ~12.5" 6.8 if I wanted a 6.8 again.

They had a decent deal awhile back on the complete gun too. Was like $600 for a middy. Can't recall if the barrel was FN though.

Either way that's a nice soft landing for jumping into 6.8.

Not a bad deal. I'm happy with the 20" upper I bought from PSA a year ago when on sale.

I've had the 16" PSA CHF 6.8 for several years. It's been all over the country hunting and is a GREAT buy. Shoots good groups too.

Sale on this ends today!

I'm thinking I will go ahead and spring for one of these. I've seen nothing but awesomeness from FN's CHF barrels, and I have been wanting a nice all around hunter that is light and handy for stalking, and also accurate from a rested position for shooting out of a blind or stand. Will probably cut down the FSB and put a 12" FF on it.

I see PSA has the D&H gen 2 6.8 mags for $10 each too. Anybody have any experience with those? Thinking about grabbing 7 or 8 along with the upper to be set up for a full combat load.

Love my two 14.7" pinned CHF PSA uppers. Reliable tackdriver with superb handling

I bought 10 of them when they priced the steel ones for $4.99 each. They have worked great. I bought 4 when they were $14 each. They work fine also.

The D&H 6.8 SPC mags seem hit or miss. I have no experience with those specifically, but reviews are all over the board.

Seems odd since the 5.56/223 mags are outstanding. I do have experience with those.

Well, I went ahead and ordered. Yeah, I wish I had made up my mind to go 6.8 back when those mags were $4.99. Oh well, I'm not complaining too much at $10.

You won't regret it. I've carried mine many many miles over the past few years and it's killed a lot of critters.

Looks like a new set of dies and a case length gauge are in my future! There looks to be a pretty good selection of bullets for this cartridge. I'm thinking with some good bonded soft points, this will also make a nice barrier blind setup for a trunk gun, and will fill the DMR/SPR role nicely.

Most importantly, I can finally be done with the PITA that are .308 ARs.

Look to Rocky Mountain Reloading or American Reloading for the XM68GD Federal pulls.
90gr Bonded Bullets made by Speer, they are barrier blind and very accurate.
They both have primed unfired cases for sale, primed with Federal GM205MAR primers.

MDWS maker of the .277 Wolverine has Federal once fired cases for as little as .18 each right now as well.

New bullets keep coming out for the 6.8 as its popularity keeps growing.
