What do you think of original Aimpoint 'Comp M' (no number) optics?  I understand that battery life is generally sub 1K hours, but how are they otherwise?  Durable?  Clear glass?

I was thinking of scrounging one for a .22LR upper.

I've had mine for years and it works just fine.

batteries are cheap

Better than cheaper knock-offs or look-a-likes.

1000 hours is still better than most Eotechs.

I've had one for several years.  It's been bullet proof.  I think I've changed the battery once, and if I recall they are less than 5 bucks.  If the price was right, I'd buy another.

They work great.  Have had mine for about 8 years and only had to replace the battery 1 time.

PS.  100-1000 hour battery life depending on setting

What would a good price be for one of those early models?

Mine has survived almost 10k so far, including 1500 in 2 days at a Rogers class.

Even on its highest setting, the dot on the Comp M is quite a bit dimmer than the dot on a Comp M2. I have both.
