Looking into how I am going to set up my new A2.... wanting to use optics, however use the standard A2 iron sights for the BUIS and co-witnesss.... is this possible? what would I need to order? Sorry if this has already been answered but I've been looking around and have not found an answer.

Most just mount the optic on top of the carry handle. These types of mounts also allow you to use your iron sights (there's a good size peep hole through the mount).

There are many types of mounts that allow you to place your optic forward of the carry handle.

I personally do not like to mount optics forward of the carry handle. The view is very cluttered to me and I might as well just use the iron sights. I just don't sense an advantage to it.

A real nice option is to buy a stripped A3 upper and sell your A2 upper to offset the cost ... that is if you can find an A3 in stock somewhere.
