O.K. Here's the deal. I just ordered a new 16" flat top kit. I have yet to come to any kind of decision as to what kind of optics I'll eventually use. I want to order a rear sight (buis), so I can shoot and use the darn gun, but, as I don't know what kind of optics I'm going to mount later, I want to buy a rear sight that leaves my options open. Also, I need to save money for a while, until I can afford a decent red dot, so the rear sight I'll buy will be my main/primary sight for quite a while. Or, to pose all of these questions another way. "If you were going to use only iron sights on a flattop--with the standard issue front sight--which rear sight would you buy?"

I like the ARMS # 40.
