 The more I shoot, the more I realize 5.56mm has its place, as does 7.62x51. I've sent a lot of 5.56 ammo past 300yds, and sometimes I wonder why? |

Is that gas block in the standard rifle position?

Yes. Its a 20" SS barrel, with a rifle length gas system. I ended up swapping the standard "weaver" gas block and TA11C on for the trip to the 600yd play ground. The "6" hash in the BDC was about 4 minutes low with my 175gr loads. I held it just over the top of the black and knocked 6 10s, and 4, Xs. The RSO never saw an ACOG before, so I offered it up and he shot the rest of my ammo. I never thought I would like the TA11, but its more than "good enough", once I figured it out. Mongo - you should have come out today. Beautiful weather, and very little wind. |

Good to hear, I'll cut a you deal on the DD forend for the AR10, and if you bring your barrel and upper, I'll even screw on the barrel nut with my custom super special secret DD AR10 barrel nut installation tool

Would you mind telling us a little bit about this build? I'd be interested in a .308 AR, but the off-the-rack Armalite and Bushmasters don't do much for me. |

Started life as a AR10A4 w/ upgraded to ArmaLites 20" SS SPR barrel(medium heavy contour Wilson match grade barrel). Swapped Hogue pistol grip, RRA NM trigger, DD 12.AR10 Rail, Crane style SPR gas block, KG Koted the barrel Black. I didnt change much, just enough. I've picked up a few secrets with recoil system and BCG tweaks to enhance reliability too. |
