Thought I would give my AR one last photo shoot before I swap out the grip for a full length DD Lite Rail, Magpul AFG, Low Pro Gas Block, and my EoTech 3x Magnifier...

She is pretty the way she is, but it will look even better by this weekend

Super excited to get my new parts, but I am going to miss my rifle like this.. Maybe I'll build another just like this.....

Noooo don't do it, that is bad ass just like it is.

Sounds like some great upgrades you have coming and I'd probably do them as well but that set up you have now is sweet!

Its a MBUS folded forward and mounted on the gas block. Magpul says do not mount MBUS on gas blocks due to heat.

eta: the sight is also too low when mounted to a gas block that height.

I could be mistaken here, but the height of the rail on the gas block is shorter then the one on the receiver. The reason why I ask is that I am contemplating assembling a rifle for my GF, and I need it to be lightweight. I have held the DPMS Oracle and might get her one of those. What kind of BUIS other then an MBUS can you put on one of those?

You need a sight that is higher and intended for a gas block. Look Here. Midwest Industries also makes one. The Magpul sights are not made for or intended to be used on gas blocks.
