I would have to be a hella serious mag collector to pay $500+ for a pair of 20's.
That said, I still want a waffle. Someday.....

The seller is GTG.
Too bad it is currently out of my price range.
Maybe I'll get lucky and they won't sell...anytime this year.

There are members on here talented enough to make one just like it. I personally wouldn't spend more than a hundred on that, no matter how rare it is.

So, I got some circle ones, a person would just need the connector, right? My copy of TBR isn't handy...

Basically correct but a little more to it than that. Floor plates are different but definately not a big hurdle using blank plates.  Spring steel shouldn't be too hard to come by.  Rivets are easy enough to find.  Catch and post may be a little tough for exactness.  Only know of two people who have authentic pieces and getting dimensions for small parts hasn't been very successful to date.

Can't really see anyone reproducing them as they are pretty worthless in a real world situation.  Definately retro and very rare for authentic but very small market also.  One circle 1 mag has been on GB for a few weeks now at $50 with no takers but it isn't from a piggy back set up either.  Guessing authentic piggy back mags with correct floor plate are worth $100ish ea in todays market.  Find some one with more coins than brains and they could easily bring asking price though.  What's $500 to someone with real coins? Finding someone with real coins that wants a piggy back 20 rd mag set up is the test.

Thanks for heads up.  More pics to look at if nothing else.

Agreed about the ultimate usefulness. But the same can be said for a number of retro items, or at least that they are no more useful then non-retro equivalents. I still would like to have a set.

That IS a rare piece of kit!
Oddly enough, I wouldn't spend that cash on it...but I'd swap him a couple waffles for it!

How about this magazine?  Its a tool room AR10 waffle magazine made specifically for Hollywood rifles SN 1001 and 1002.  It is a tad smaller than the later magazines in length and width.  Only 19 rounds will fit.  It was found with a bunch of misc junk tossed into a dumpster whan Armalite was doing some house cleaning in the late 1960's or early 1970's.

Damn.  I wish Armalite had hired me to help with their housecleaning.
I'd have even worn a French Maid outfit just to be allowed to go through their dumpsters!

OH GREAT! Another damn accessory to make! I'm kidding of course. The experimental 50 rounders have always been the 'golden fleece' of the retro world...

Didn't they try out several designs? I feel like I've seen at least 3 different styles of the 50 round mags.

I see that seller sell some fantastic and quite rare stuff, oddly enough he lives literally a few towns away from me and I have no clue who he is.
