700 seems way high for a plinker. They were originally cast and the newer super plinker is forged. You can buy the plinker direct from oly at retail for 595, so 700 is highway robbery.

Olympic Arms is better than a sharpened stick, but not as good as several other brands of rifle that can be bought for the same money.
Buy a Stag lower, complete with stock. Drop a CMT/Stag upper and bolt carrier group onto it. For $750 you have a very, very nice complete weapon. |

Someone here in Portland was selling them for 599.00 NIB. For someone that can't build one the $600.00 is not a bad buy.

750.00 for a real weapon,not 700.00 for a Plinker Plus! If you own an ArmaLite why do you need a entry level weapon.  I would get something better or Improve what I already have. I luv my ArmaLite AR-10

there top of the line rifles work verry well. 3 guys I shoot with use them for 3 gun and ipsc rifle. Only one rifle has gone down, that was to a broken extractor pin. these guys really dont do much in the way of PM, they just shoot.

Seriously I put an OLY SS Match 16" bbl on my Rock River setup and just recently when I passed about 1000 rounds it started to turn out awesome groups. I mean 5 shots in a quarter at 100 yards good. so if you buy the higher end OLY you'll be golden. -MD |
