Their new receivers are fantastic. I would get one of their upper receivers to go along with it.

I have had several of Oly's receivers, and have two now, both forged. One is the old "stop sign" SGW, the other a newer PCR. Both are excellent.
At one time they had some problems with their cast rx's, out of spec machining, but that was corrected. They will repair/replace problem receivers. |

I havd uppers and lowers from a number of companies, and they all interchange.

I have a forged Oly. lower. Looks really good to me. Finish is as nice as my Armalite.

I just picked up another Mega yesterday, and as much as I hate to say it, their new finishing is even better than their old ones. They are fantastic, and the milling is the best I've seen. You can tell these guys are used to working something other than gun parts, because the quality level is way above the rest.

hinking.gif I put together my forged OLY lower and went through my function check. I noticed all my mags don't fall free from my mag well and require some force to fully enter the mag well. However, they all fall out perfectly fine from my CAV-15 MK-I. I'm a newbie to AR-15's and I was curious how I should go about correcting this problem.

I had this same problem with my last rifle. They are built solid but they take some breraking in.
For the magazine taking force to snap in is the bolt closed? If so thats the prob. But yeah after I shot off a few hundred rounds it was fine. They had some problems in the past but have since produced rifles just as nice as anyone else, also they are very friendly people. The last couple of years all Oly products have been CNC, and the quality is excellent, although Mega is still better.

The mags require force to snap in not because of the bolt and I know this 100%. That's because I didn't even install an upper to my PCR T3 receiver. My Oly PCR at this moment is only a complete lower assembly (due to lack of funds at this moment). Anyone have any ideas how I could remedy this problem? |
