I am thinking of buying an Olympic Arms LT.  It is their lightweight tactical carbine.  I have been doing some searches on this forum and have not found anything.  Does anyone have any experience or opinions on this rifle?  Here is a link to their website to view it.  Thanks.

I have one of their LT M4's.  I love it.  It does not look like I bought it now.  I have changed the stock and added alot of mods.  My only complaint is that the mag well is tight on some mags, and I need to have the ball detent replaced on the buis.  It was my first AR that I had bought just after the ban had ended.

It has a SS barrel and is probably one of the most accurate rifles that I have shot.

Since I have bought it, I have started recently snapping together AR's.  Currently I have completed a complete lower on a CMMG lower and the other day started putting together another lower on a dpms reciever.  If you must have a complete rifle they are a good rifle, but if you want the same options at a lower price, just snap one together.

How was your rifle when new (no mods) with ammo?  Was it particular?  I have a couple of DPMS rifles and they are very ammo sensitive.  Otherwise, I have loved the DPMS rifles I have.

I have had no problems with mine.  I also use it for a compitition gun and have shot a few thousand rounds without a hickup.  The only problems that I have had were not related to the gun.  Mag problems.

The only negative I can think of is the tight magwell.

Here is a picture of my set up.

I changed out the stock and added alot of creature comforts.  It is not really a lightweight anymore, but it functions perfectly.

That's a pretty sweet set-up.  You said yours is a chrome lined barrel?  I noticed the LT's are not chrome lined.  I am semi-new to AR's, is there a real big benefit to chrome lined?  How would I go about getting one chrome lined?  Thanks for the help.

No, it is not chrome lined.  It is stainless steel.  You cannot get the ltm4 in chrome lined. Just SS.  Oly makes some pretty accurate barrels.

The barrels are marked SS 5.56.  SS is for stainless steel and the 5.56 is for the chamber.  The 5.56 chamber is the way to go.

Yes and No.  Chrome lined helps with reliability.  It is also slicker than the standard steels helping in ejection not to mention that it helps minimize corrosion inside the barrel.  You do give up some accuarcy though.  Personally I think that the stainless steel is the best overall option, but it really is a personal choice.  Everyone has an opionion on it, so just do a little reading, and thinking about it, then make your decision.
