Does anyone here have any experience with the Olympic Arms plinker?  I do not wish to spend alot of cash on my first AR, want to see if I like them before dumping a large sum, and would like to know if this rifle is a good bang for the buck, or a dud.  I don't mind the cast receiver, so that is not an issue, just would like to know if the rifle is as good as what I've been hearing about Oly Arms rifles.

The finish on it is painted, I could and did use an old suck to rub on it and lo! it came away black.  Rub it a few times and the bare aluminum will appear.  I got a can of Aluma Hyde from Brownells and painted mine over.  You should get a Colt, BM, ARA, Colt preferably.  Works just like others, but the finish, visible drip of the paint and machine marks bother me.

Thanks for the input, that link to the other forum was helpful.  For the price I was quoted, I can't say no to it, so I'm gonna go for it, and should I like it, and decide I need another, it'll be a Bushmaster or RR for sure.
