I know everyone is going to scream Win White box, but I've had issues with it in the primary gun I shoot and carry (see my comment in the Win white box thread), and have decided to look at other options. I need a good plinking/practice load, roughly equivalent of Ranger 127gr +P+... Just looking for some hot 124gr FMJ pretty much.

Looking for Chrono data on:

S&B 124gr FMJ

Hot Shot 124gr FMJ (where can I get some of this? JG Sales had some for a while)

Olyimpic 124gr FMJ

Looks like $110 to $120 a case is the going rate for any of these, plus shipping. Anyone know if theres still some Danish M39 around?

Gotta a Hungry XD-9 SubCompact, and an itchy trigger finger...

Have you considered the Geco 9mm? Its only a 115 gr. bullet but clocks at about 1,500 fps out of my friend's 16" carbine barrel. For comparison S&B's 115gr (I know you asked for 124, but we never tested that one) did about 1,225 fps out of the same gun. Winchester white box was a little slower than the S&B at about 1,150 fps I believe. You can always load your own as well. My pet subgun load for the gun above pushes a 124gr bullet at a bit over 1,400 fps . . . and I don't give out that recipe just as it is a wee bit over what some load books recommend :)

You might try the Fiocchi 123gr. FMJ. It's one of the few full-power 9mm FMJ loads and it's priced quite well. Cheaper Than Dirt is having a sale on it until October 12th. $5.67/50, which is a great price. www.cheaperthandirt.com/ctd/product.asp?dept%5Fid=201005&sku=AMM%2D430
