That's exactly what I'm running on this upper except NT4. May have reconvinced me.

Still be cool to see a 551. Never gotten behind one yet. Would be nice to experience it eating batteries.

ETA for page ownership. Remind me to take more pictures of CQBR.

Carbine class with mine. SoCal was 96 deg with the typical blazing sun.
Ground is hard dry sand and dirt. It's a complete DD upper with a .070 Gas port.
I like these barrels, I really like the whole package. I built another 10.3 DD with a
Geissele MK 8 handguard and don't love it, I like the MK 18 hand guard better.
When I'm not in California the upper is on a proper SBR lower with a Gen 1 LMT SOPMOD.

Finally received my stamp. As close as I can get.

Colt M4 lower semi auto ,Colt upper, Colt M4 cut down barrel to 10.3" w/ .070 gas port, Colt BCG, Colt CH, LMT SOPMOD stock GEN2 , KAC M4QD flash hider, KAC RAS w/ KAC covers and VFG, LMT rear sight, Wilcox COMP mount, Aimpoint COMP M2 made in Swedan, CQD rear sling mount plate.
and I have a Surefire M962 weaponlight with genuine SW02 tailcap. Its just not installed in the picture. I actually don't care for it.

I do have an A1 grip to install on it. Just haven't done it yet.

sorry for the crappy cell phone picture

Now we just need a sidekick and some villains. This could be a terrible comic!

I wonder why colt/ usgi carry handles ( maybe all milspec handles) don't sit flush to the end of the receiver? Lmt definitely made their a2 with the profile of the upper in mind. Is there any 1 reason? Material cost savings?weight savings? To give me somethin to stare at and wonder why?

That would have driven me nuts! I didn't even know they did that till you pointed it out.

Sling? Like the strap that’s often used to carry/stabilize a long arm.

You'll have to excuse Wissota. He seems to have contracted the derpes simplex virus.

My vote would be VCAS, but a standard Colt web sling would prob be more period correct.

I think he was referring to the "textbook perfect" part by saying it needs a Generalissimo Juan SOPMOD.

Well, as I'm selling off the clone parts that I'm not planning to use anymore, I somehow seem to be finding things to take their place. EE rule no. 113: you won't find what you are looking for, until you stop looking. Give up all hope, and only then will it magically appear.
Found a used Cqd vfg to go on my mod0/ block 1. I was lookin to get one for an east coast eod, but I wasn't about to spend almost $100 for a vfg that I had no prior experience with. I gave up hope in ever finding a used on, started selling parts, and bam... There it is. It feels really light even though it's metal. I didn't weigh it, but it doesn't feel much heavier than others I've used.

Nice. Good place to start. Hang around here too long and you'll be looking for a gen 1 sopmod and begin to appreciate that battery draining donkey dong of a weapon light. Looks good

Thanks

Is there any differences other than the quick coupler sling swivel and o-ring color on the Gen 2 compared to the Gen 1 stocks?

picture with Surefire on it.

Just the no swivel socket on gen 1s. The storage tube o ring color is actually a B5 vs LMT thing, and not a gen 1 vs gen 2 thing.
