That looks awesome! I'm a huge fan of Magpul MOE SL / SL-K stocks. All of my build have SL's.

Nice work brother.

Fellow addicts,

I’ve been emailing back and forth with a rep from B&T Industries regarding a special run of Tanodized Atlas Bipods.
They’re trying to figure out what the minimum order would be, and I wanted to how many of you would be interested if this ends up being possible.

There’s no guarantee this is remotely feasible, but thought I’d mention it here to get some preliminary feedback.

I’ll set up a poll thread somewhere on this site if I get a number that seems manageable from B&T.

That sounds awesome. If I didn’t have so many ongoing projects I’d sign up. If they do make them I might not be in on the first run, but I’ll get one eventually guaranteed.

I may be in. I've got 2 Atlas CAL BT-65 NC bipods right now. That's what I'd love to have tanodized. I could offload one of the black ones to defray the cost.

Keep us posted brother! Thank you.

I know this is a Cerakote job, but man does it look good!

Someone on this posted this link (see below) a while back. Not sure on the quality or anything, I have checked their site from time to time and they are not in stock. I think Ripcord Ind. offered a clear ano lower, but that was a while ago and I haven't seen them available for quite some time.

Ordered an ADM Tano quick release AD-170-S lever mount for one of my Atlas bipods. I had one in the past, sold it to a friend. I like the ADM Tano goodies.. and the Titanium lever system is just icing on the cake.

Now if B&T will help us out with a Tano version of the BT-65 Bipod. That would be stupid sweet!

Edit: Tano ADM AD-170-S bipod mount in the house. I also sent Roman Arms a pricing request on a Cerakote job like the link I posted earlier in the thread. They still do it, girl I spoke with quoted ~ $175 + ship for a single color. But, the one I linked to her is a custom mix, so it'll be more $$$.

If B&T would do a run of Tanodized bipods straight out of the factory that would be best. Maybe I'll call them and bug them too. Can't hurt, as they've done it before (I think they did anyway.)

Carry on

Edit II: Looks like FDE.rifle did one and posted on B&T's Facebook wall in 2019

This is the quietest this thread has ever been.

My SFAR goes to Cerakote next week. Smoked bronze of course. Hoping the Mk8 and Aero adjustable gas block play well together. Still have a massive list of parts to buy but the base rifle will be ready in a few weeks.

Seriously considering an Sig Tango MSR 1-6 in their coyote anodize. Trying to not get carried away on this one and it’s probably my last tano focused build of the year. Spent almost as much on guns in 2023 as I have on the mortgage.

I’m secretly hoping the MK8 doesn’t work with the SFAR, as that’s exactly what I would use and if it doesn’t fit I’ll have an excuse not to buy one…

The Mk8 is good to go. There’s a guy running one already which was what pushed me over the fence.

The factory Ruger gas block is garbage. Not only is it so large it runs into the factory rail, but lots of people having gas seal issues with them as well. After that it appears Ruger is sending them out with loose gas keys. All things I can address as they seem to run solid once sorted.

Please give an update on that Aero adjustable gas block when you get a chance to shoot with it. I am curious about those, especially for the price. They seem to run less in price than my Odin Works AGBs.

Just got it in today. No range time yet, but….

It’s a stupid simple design. I scratch my head wondering why so many other AR gas blocks are so complicated. Adjustable gas blocks are nothing new but people try to innovate and it complicates.

The sizing is barely bigger than a typical low profile. Measures 1.300 on my calipers at the tallest.

The detents are nice. I should be able to adjust it from the top of my Mk8 even easier than from the front.

The design seems like it will hold up to erosion well by nature of the screw shaft being crazy easy to replace if need be. It comes with an extra detent and again I want to point out how simple the design is.

I've got an order in with MSP Armory on a FDE receiver set that should be fulfilled here soon. I believe they make Ripcord's products.

It looks like they’re still on their website and can be added to cart.

And they have Nickel Boron receivers…! Not sure why, but I’m interested

Anyone know what tano buffer tube would go best with Badger tano C1 LPVO mount / Badger tano charging handle?

Looks like Colt would have been a great option but I don’t see them anywhere. Maybe Geissele DDC?

My depravity knows no bounds…

After adding these to my cart and then later deleting them several times over the past few weeks, I finally bought a pair of ALG DDC QD swivels (and a Geissele sling).

I’m happy with them, yet disgusted with myself

Sig Coyote anodize versus CMT DRT. I was worried the Sig would be the same DRT/Olight reddish bronze but it’s not.

Pretty dark compared to DDC. Good 50 shades element, but probably pretty close to Kodiak Brown more than anything else.

It’s only the cheap one, not the DVO. Chinese glass has come a long ways since I last bought a cheap LPVO about 10 years ago. Decent enough for $300 but even a $500 LPVO will be twice as good.

It’s dumb but I mostly got it because the tano will be a good fit for my budget 308 Ruger SFAR.

Not Odie, but I’ve owned the tango msr (before switching to a tango6T)… the glass is pretty close to the leupold vxr series’s scopes.  It’s has good mid tier glass and hits above its price point.  Better than a strike eagle and some of the older primary arms 1-6 scopes.  The eye box is good but not great, I give it a solid C+/B-

I’d agree to all that. The glass is surprisingly clear. Only glass knocks I have are slight barreling at 1X and chromatic aberration. The new generation Strike Eagle and PA optics are all about on par with the MSR. China has come a long ways the past few years in glass quality. I’d even say the 1X is better than my Credo.

My old PA ACSS absolutely fell apart in clarity around 300 yards. Lost my rangefinder moving but the furthest I can see from my house is about 500 yards maybe and it still holds up pretty good. My Leupold VXFI (upgrade bridge between the VXR and Mk3) edges it out but not by a ton.

If someone has a strict budget I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. The PA Nova might be better but it also doesn’t have tanodize.

ETA: I got a bit more time to do a stable comparison and there’s less humidity today. My Leupold is much clearer, but it’s also almost twice as much. Still impressed for $270 but will be replacing it with the tano Primary Arms PLXC after I finish some other projects.

I believe that’s the Optics Planet OPMOD.

My SFAR is done. Picking it up later today. Not sure what light I’m going to put on it yet, but as of my typing this it only has two tano parts which is just unacceptable. The first 308 AR with a 15” DDC Mk8 that I’m aware of.

Thanks. One more as a hold over until I can get a picture on a sunny day.

Definitely want a lighter weight optic for it. The LPVO kind of kills its lightweight spirit, but it’s hard to remember it’s a 308. Think I might just suck it up and get another Cloud Rein 3.0. Also completely spaced I’m out of slings too.

Even with the chunky LPVO and other bolt ons it’s pushing just about 9 pounds unloaded. I still can’t believe it’s a 308 when I pick it up.

Barrett brown is a lot lighter than I thought for some reason. Going to be a full spectrum of FDE.

And FDE AR family pic. I need to crank the tano numbers up! The bottom one is going to need a barrel replacement and rebuild soon but still waiting out the pistol ban BS. Props to Firearm Policy Coalition. Need a new optic and light for the SFAR first.

I know what you mean. But, I've been on a Glock roll lately. Built two new guns, G48MOS and G19.5 MOS. And, Trijicon releases the RMR HD. That $650 little gem didn't help.
