Generally on a ffp reticle, people go to highest magnification to tune in the diopter. But some people prefer to tune LPVO at 1x because of use case. I believe on ffp the optimal diopter setting *could* be different from high to low magnification. I'm not saying this should be a setting that you'd mess with like parallax. Make your choice and lock it down. But you do have a choice. |

I misunderstood-it sounded like you or whomever that was directed at was asking if the diopter should be messed with like a parallax adjustment would be To answer the question-i haven't had to fine tune anything-its the same throughout the entire mag range. HOWEVER- I have 20/20 in my left and 20/15 in my right. If I set the diopter with both eyes open, I have to use both eyes open. If I set it with one eye closed, I have to use thr optic with one eye closed. Ymmv |

For my eyes on my atacr, tuning the diopter on 8x detracts some at 1x, mostly the sight picture looses a little “flatness” not much tho. Inversely, tuning at 1x. Gives up a small amount of clarity on 8x, noticeable past 400 or so. I have not seen any reticle bloom/fuzz whatsoever on 1x.
The lpvo’s take a little more time to get them setup to my liking. |

Was going for 416 recce without the HK price tag. So I don’t have a ton of time behind it yet, but I like it. I still need to offset a dot. The nice thing about this optic is the weight. It’s considerably light for what it is so even with it, the rifle isn’t a boat anchor. As pictured with an empty mag it weighs in at 10.5lbs. As far as it being too much glass for the caliber, I think that’s entirely subjective. Depending on how you use your rifle it could absolutely be too much. However, if most of your shooting is done prone or off a barrier or bipod then it’s not really imo. I do say this tho not having the best eyes ever so the magnification absolutely helps at distance. Plus I prefer holds to dialing so Horus is a big win. |

I think it's a super versatile set up and the expense of some weight. I am in love with the horus tremor 3. I've been playing with it on the horus simulator and look forward to getting a 4-16x in tremor 3. If it's too much glass, then i'll just be a training gun for .308. |

Anyone know someone besides Chop Boss doing rail chops? Mentioned that he could get the new RIS III to fit on a 12.5" GL/SSC type but he closed doors.

Silencerco Omega 36m. Faithful old T1 on a unity mount. Surefire light. Hoping to take a rifle class with it in 2024. |

I have a magpul mlok cantilever picatinny rail on the bottom of the handguard to push the bipod out more to make room for my hand. I'm eventually gonna bring it back flush with the rail once I get an ADM 3 slot riser mount for a standard picatinny bipod. The ADM Mlok QD is too long to have on a 10 inch rail while still having room for hand placement. |

Picked up this 14.5” rosco/aero/
![]() I didn’t bring the tools to dial in the adjustable gas block so it’s currently bolt action but an incredibly soft shooter. I am debating a 45* red dot and a different comp so I can throw my Rex on there as needed, but made small groups and much cheaper to mess with than my rattler. Plan is to add a good light and grab it any time I need more than 5.5” of 300bo. ![]() Old 3 gun rifle at top. Shoots lights out but pushing 13 pounds loaded. ![]() |
