Ya know...sometimes Adco really grinds my gears. What am I looking at here? A pin but no weld? Not to mention the ginormous stack of shims to make a 13.9 16” with a warcomp..? WTH

no idea about the weld, but if a warcomp is the 2.4" listed on their website, when you subtract the length of the threads (~0.6"), then in order to get a 13.9" barrel to EXACTLY 16.0", you're looking at 0.3" of shims required.

In other words, once you screw the warcomp all the way onto your 13.9" barrel, the OAL of the barrel is 15.7" or shorter if the threaded area is like 0.65" or something.

Unless your muzzle device is something different and a bit longer?

They said it was in fact welded but they didn’t have enough room to grind it down.

That pin ain't welded.
It also looks like there's a solder ball on the shims

They should have also used the beveled/base spacer then the shims to get that to 16 inches.   14.0” barrel would have been better to get the warcomp to 16”, but I have seen it done with 13.9”.  And it won’t look like a clusterfuk.

That was a 13” URX 4 and a 13.9” barrel. Sorry for all the trouble.

At 1:1 Scale, it's easier to see I dont have any tools small enough to get in there without risking damage to your rail or the warcomp.

maybe a combo like that would be better suited to the silver solder method?

Since we confirmed it’s welded, I’m fine with it. I had mocked it up with the Surefire large shim and thought I would have been closer to 16” with a couple more, but if it takes 0.3” then that’s fine.

What is a good very accurate 11.5-12.5” barrel nowadays?

Also has anyone installed urx 3.1 on their builds? Pics appreciated, thanks

Sounds like it was just not the ideal mix of parts for a pin/weld.    Explains why it looks like that.

I'd recommend maybe trying this collar next time. Was used on my upper and is fantastic because it allowed a pencil barrel to be used still and P/W shorter without all the shims.

I've gotten great accuracy from a Criterion Core 11.5. This one has a Colt 11.5. Hits at 500 with my 77 grain stuff were easy. Haven't shot it for groups yet.

I backordered an RC2 from SilencerShop back in October and they told me 3-6 months. It ended up shipping to my dealer in about 2 1/2 months. Not telling how long that wait is now.

Yea I'd hate to pay the 950 everywhere is asking anyway. Much better deal at 600-700. Lets see the rest of those beasts you just posted up. If I can ever find a urx 4 in stock I'll be putting my 14 back together.

New one I have been working on, sort of, some extra parts and put it together.

11.5" BA govt profile
BA lopro GB
MI 10.5" MLOK rail
PSA Premium BCG
Upper, no idea no marks
Silencerco ASR brake (this is the original brake I had on it on a different weapon and now no other mount will fit )
BlackHawk Gas Can
Strike Eagle  1-8x

I want another Sionics RGP or Centurion 11.5 LW, but those don't appear to be coming into stock that I have seen.  Want different glass at some point. I was really happy on the closeness of the rail and suppressor, just perfect.

Is that a 14.5 Mod 2 that you cut down? I didn’t think any of the KAC MDs were long enough to do a 13.7 p/w.

No, not a mod 2. I originally wanted to do that but changed my mind in the end. And it’s not p/w. SBR
