So, Im gonna build a SPR and I am deciding on a barrel. I have read good remarks on the Odin and Nordic 18in barrels. Sub-Moa out of the box and good quality. Now, I have also looked into MAS defense and Integrity Arm and seen the same reviews. Good quality and accuracy. Their prices are great, but im not sure on the quality. I have some reviews stating they rig their system not allowing for a sub-5 star review to be entered.

With all that, what should I pick? All are WYLDE chambered to help with accuracy. I know the barrel does alot of work so I dont want it to be sub par. Do any of yall have experience with MAS, Integrity Arms, Odin, or Nordic?

You missed out on the $199 Larue barrels

I haven't seen any of those on the 1 MOA all day challenge.  Multiple Larues, Kreiger's show up several times along with Black Whole Weaponry and Douglas.

I'm not saying they're bad, but I'm skeptical of 1 MOA claims.

When was the Larue sale? I am open to other barrels, Im just on a budget of $250.

Friday morning they sent an email to everyone on their list. $199 each for first 1000 barrels sold. They ended up extending the sale until Monday night because everyone crashed their servers. Limit 1 per customer.

I would look at black hole weaponry and see if you can get one for around $250.

The cheapest BHW barrel is $260 before shipping and will take 2-4 weeks to arrive. Are they really worth the wait?

This would be my choice.

I will say my Odin Works barrel shot fantastic, but I never measured groups

Well, Im a little worried on the wait times for BHW barrel. Some have waited up to 19 weeks.  The Faxon barrels are a good price but out of stock. The mixed reviews on BHW barrels has me a little worried.

Synyster, what size Odin barrel did you have? I would also assume that the BHW barrel is WYLDE chambered though its not stated?

I have a 10.5in .223 wylde barrel from MAS Defense and it has been good so far I've got a little over 1000 rounds through it. No problems from a variety of .223 and 5.56.

The BHW barrel from Surplus Arms and Ammo is in stock and will ship in a day or two. I had a BHW barrel in 6.5 Grendel - it was amazingly accurate. BHW barrels are chambered as they are marked - 5.56. .223 Wylde is not critical - and most of the more accurate barrels you see used are chambered in 5.56 (ex. LaRue)

I had the 18'' DMR profile Odin Works barrel.

I own the odinworks 3gun 18" barrel, it's only seen hand loads, it is most certainly a sub moa barrel.  I've considered buying another of their barrels when the time comes.

Yea, I was looking at the DMR Odin Works. Well, that two good testimonys to Odin Works. The Nordic has good reviews as well. so that rules out MAS and Integrity. So now its downs to Odin, Nordic, or BHW. The BHW comes with that free upper, which would save me $100 so that may be what I get.

It's a stripped upper. I think you can get a stripped Anderson upper at AIMsurplus for $39 plus shipping.

Yea but I have read bad stuff about Anderson and dont want to buy from them. Free upper saves me about $50-60. Every penny counts for this build. So I hope the BHW barrel is as good as yall say it is. Reviews seem to agree.

Man, thats $186 with shipping. Though it doesnt have a upper deal, so Id have to buy one and the cheapest complete is $80 so the BHW and Odin are the same price. Ugh....why cant some things be simple.

Nothing wrong with Anderson uppers and lowers.  You can spend more on another upper, but your not really going to get more.
Link Posted: 7/2/2015 2:51:40 PM EST

True! I think with shipping and all, a stripped lower with parts is only a bit cheaper than a complete. I can get a complete for $80 and a stripped for $50 plus $20 in parts + shipping. But I plan on getting the BHW barrel so that has a free upper anyways.
