Looking to find a nut to fit the "bolt" in the bottom hole on an A2 stock butt-pad. This would replace the standard sling mount that currently holds the butt-plad in place.....anyone know of such an animal.......Thanks in advance

I just cut off my loop part of the swivel and filed it down to match the stocks surface. I then Mag Phosphated it. It turned out awesome. ls

The screw is a 12-28 thread, a near impossible size to find in your local hardware store - I know, I tried. You can order a box of 100 nuts from McMaster Carr for about $4 and supply all your friends. I just bought a 2" long 10-32 screw and nut and replaced the screw as well. Total cost, $0.17.

The butt plate screws measure .250 DIA. Wouldn't that make them 1/4-28? That is a fairly common screw used in many guns. 1/4-28 nuts are easy to find.

I don't know where you got your calipers, but the sling swivel retaining screw is 0.21", which makes it a #12. The screw into the receiver extension is a 1/4".
