It will out shoot the shooter.. Basically it can shoot however well the shooter can shoot.

yeah i figured that much, and i know they make an awsome barrel from what i have read, i had yet to read anything realy negative about a noveske barrel, just want to know what there barrel's are capable of at 100 - 300 yard's, i will be shooting further out then that most likely 500-600 at the most but 100-300 mostly, so what kind of  group's have people shot with a noveske 18 inch ss spr barrel.

FYI, it's the shooter, barrel and ammunition which determines the accuracy of a rifle, not the muzzle device.......

ETA - my apologies, thought this was a muzzle device thread, just realized that Noveske made barrels are now available and that my comments above may not apply here, sorry

Tag for future reading.

+1 on the range reports... anyone have a link to range reports on Noveske barrels or want to share your experiences?

Not to highjack the thread but what about the barrel wear or life of a noveske barrel? I've read on this board that some say they last longer than other SS barrels and others disagree with that assertion... no proof on either side though.

My 20" Noveske/Pacnor shoots very well.  It's a plain ole 1-7.5" tw, 4 groove barrel in what he called his SPR contour.  Not that new Polyanna stuff everyone seems to be talking about now.

I've been using the "Major's" 75gr OTM Hornady load in it. It's pretty consistent stuff for factory "reloads".  Groups under a half and inch at 100yd are very easy to do.

As a comparison, my 26" 1-8"tw WOA/Shilen and my standard old18" 1-8"tw RRA/Wilson both shoot just as well.

Accuracy really depends on the shooter. With that said, Noveske uses Pac Nor barrels, which are considered by many to be on of the best.

With 77gr MK's, I am able to get under half inch groups out of my Noveske upper @100.

But, I spent so much money on this barrel, and I was promised magic!?!?

im not expecying magic, just wondering what some average group's are with a noveske 18 inch spr barrel thats all,

just want input on a range report or any experince any one has had with what kind of group's a guy can expect. so far it seem's with quality part's and a two stage trigger you could get just about  1-sub moa,  just wantes to give this one last bump for the evening crew

Thanks

PacNor barrels are button rifled.  Expect accuracy to diminish at longer ranges (600 yds) around 3500 rounds.  It will still shoot good groups at 300 and less for many thousand more.

Say's polygonal rifling on the site?

Real question i have is....

...are the 14.5's really worth 2500 for an entire Nov build? :P

sorry...highjacker. :P

My recon 16" barrel is due to arrive early June.  It sure would be nice if someone would post their targets.  Enough talk!!  Please show targets!

Noveske uses the Pac-Nor blanks not their pre-made barrels.

ETA:  Unless your life depends upon this barrel i'd just go with a WOA barrel.  The WOA service rifle barrel shoots 1/4 MOA if you can  and its about a hundred bucks cheaper.  Expect comprable accuracy from their 18" SPR bbl.
