I'm a self proclaimed noob to the AR world.  I'm about ready to buy an EOTech for my Bushy.  I have the removable carry handle, so I can mount the sight to the flat-top.  I would like to have the best of both worlds.  Meaning the EOTech for tactical ops and a scope for sniping when necessary.  Any suggestions on a mount for them, or do I need to provide more info on the scope I will eventually buy?

Also, being the noob that I am, I don't foresee ever being able to afford night vision gadgets to my AR, so which EOTech would make more sense for me?  I'm leaning toward the AA battery operated one, simply for frugal concerns.

Any and all responses are appreciated!!

Sounds like you need the 512 model; AA batteries and no NV settings. Same model I have, and its worked out great for me.

I ordered from SKD Tactical (check out the list of sponsors above for a link) and I can definetly reccomend them. $5 shipping and I got it in 3 days, even though I live out in the boonies (otherwise known as Wyoming)

It sounds like you need a 512.  My suggestion is to forgo the mount to start with and see how you like it first, then get a mount later if you want to.

Just got my EOThang 552 2 weeks ago his
Tried the flat top direct mount to start with and cheek weld is great.  I do not have a buis yet.  I am thinking about getting a 1/4" riser to cowitness in the lower half of the sight though.  I am not sure if I like the front sight post right at the dot.

First thing I would suggest is seeing if you can SELL or TRADE that carry handle on the EE for an ARMS #40L or other quality folding BUIS since you mentioned "scope" later on down the road.  It would be much better to have two items (scope and EO) to swap back and forth rather than three (carry handle).

Then, as already suggested, get the EOTech 512 (I have 2 myself) and mount it directly to the flat top.  Use it for a month before you think about adding any mounts or levers to it.  If you still don't like the height, or you find that it doesn't return to zero when removed and replaced (mine do) then you can start checking out mounts etc.

Wow!

Plenty of suggestions so far...all taken under advisement.  I'll do some homework and check into all of them before droppin' the dollar.

Thanks fellas...   h.gif
