Come on newarguy. If there wasn't or you couldn't get a Trijicon ta-31 with donut what model would you get?

TA31 with a chevron (better for presicion shots as well as CQB!)

Isn't the ta-11 a little long?

TA11 - especially since I could get a TA31 and chose the TA11 anyway. However, if you like the TA31 and don't like the size of the TA11, look at the TA50 compact ACOG. 3x, same eye relief, same exit pupil, slightly narrower field of view (5.5 vs. 7) and cheaper, smaller and lighter than the TA31. About the only downside is I don't care for the reticles in the compacts as much; but it is a pretty minor downside.

Name me a scope that is significantly shorter than a TA11 other than another Trijicon scope. Also keep it under 14oz like the TA11. Every other compact 3X or 4X scope out there is similar in length to a TA11. Its not even longer than the upper receiver it sits on. If the NSN and TA31 did not exist I doubt anyone would think of it as a BIG scope.

point well made

www.cactustactical.com/valdada/11x4tact.html#topofpage Or http://www.cactustactical.com/valdada/4x24m2tact.html#topofpage These are both excellent compact and lower priced scopes in the 4X range. Neither is shorter and lighter than the TA11. They are less expensive and if Trijicon did not exist I would get one of these.

Probably a TA11, or a 2x or 3x Comp ACOG.

In the 21st century this will be common for any modern militery. Weapons are cheap. What is expensive is optics, NV, IR lasers etc.
