I thought I heard that homebuilt firearms were allowed to be made without FFL's involved.  But the sellers on the net that I have found seem to require them for a stripped lower even.

Did I miss something? I'm reasonably sure that I didnt make this idea up myself.  Urban myth, legal or not?  I'm confused hen

building your own without needing an FFL means you actually finish the lower reciever yourself.

most people think "building" when they really mean "assembling" when it comes to ARs.

Look at tanneryshop for 80% lowers and the type of work needed to finish them.

Ok, I see, thanks.  I was not aware of the 80% thing.
