Just curious, does muzzle flash affect night vision optics? Wouldn't it light up your perspective too much each time you fire?

So far all of my night vision related shooting has been done with suppressed weapons so it's not been a factor. But I've been pondering just your question for when a can isn't availablie.

I have a Smith Enterprises Vortex for the M4 and have been meaning to get out and try it to see if there's that much difference in it and a friends stock M4.

If you get the chance to shoot steel with NV, that is some serious fun!

M4...IR...head mounted NVD...varying metal and rock targets from twenty to 100 yd plus = Interesting fun.

Nobody can ever convince me that lasers don't have their place in the weapons world again.
