Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Newbie question, my first AR

Hello people,  I'm new to the forum and hoped you could help me out with a question.  I've been shooting handguns for years and decided to step up and buy an AR-15.  I wanted to get a Varmint or something equivelant with a bull barrel.  I've narrowed it down to two choices Olympic-arms K8 or a Model 1 Sales Varmint.  I know they arn't the best but I like the black barrel finish they come with (save me the time of having it coated later).  So wich should I go with?  Or can you suggest an alternative?  Going with a 20" by the way mainly target shooting.  Thanks
