For a RRA National Match A2 shooting at 100-200 yards, which grain Black Hills should I consider? Is the 55 grain powerful enough? I;m trying to strike a balance between cost and performance. I'm a newbie at this, so go easy...

If you are just doing 100-200 yd reduced course matches or practicing, the Black Hills blue box 52 or 68 grain MHP loadings work well. Black Hills loads some good stuff, you really can't go wrong with their ammo. You may find some Hornady loadings with the same bullets at a higher price. Federal loads the 69 SMK, but is too spendy for me.

55 FMJ might work if you are starting offhand and have trouble hitting an 11"x17" sheet of paper at 100 yds. As your proficiency increases, so does the demands on your ammo.

ETA: if you can afford the initial cost, load your own

Also, reading the FAQ (at the top of this forum) is a good place to start.
