It is very simple... after you do it once or twice.
You won't need a vice, but you will need safety glasses and sand paper. You'll need an two allen wrenches to finish up, but I don't remember if they are included or not. Other than that, some punches could be handy, but aren't necessary.
Basically what it boils down to is this. You select a shim (included) and put it on the tube. You screw in the stock and see if it times properly with the shim. If it doesn't try all the other shims and combos. If no combos work, try the closest set and sand down one of the shims until it fits. You should have to turn the stock against some resistance at the end, but not so much it causes the shim to pop out the side.
Ok, once you have your shims sized properly, comes the hard part. Put in your takedown pin, detente and spring. Get your buffer retention spring and detente ready. Screw in the stock with shims until you are about 90° from upright. Compress your takedown spring and put it under the shims. Hold the shims in place. Put the buffer detente in and depress it. Turn the stock the last 90°. After this, you just need to put in the anti-rotation pieces, your sling loop and bolt them all down.
The tricky bit is that the shims are flexy, so the takedown pin spring will come flying right out the back. I shot my buffer detente across the room several times getting everything lined up right. This is what the safety glasses or for, you don't want to put out your eye with a pointy bit of supersonic metal. It seems like you need 3 hands, but even using a vice won't alliviate that.
