Below are pics of a new upper(new to me)  And I don't know much about ar's.  I was told the upper is HBAR (don't know what that is)

The only marking are on the barrel: B MP 5.56 NATO 1/9

It is a 14 1/2" barrel with a welded 1 1/2" brake.  It came with a bcg, and charging handle, and a tango down forward grip and rail.  What is the button next to the charging handle?  (on the right side, just below)  Is there any way to tell who made the upper receiver, or bcg?  What type of handguards would I get if I wanted to replace these?(CAR?)  I really know nothing about these rifles, but I want to get to know it.  I can take my glock apart and put it back together with my eyes closed, and want to be able to do that with this too.  Thanks for any help, Jeff

It JAMS rounds that would otherwise not go into the chamber.

Bad design IMO

OK, this will show how "new" I am:)  The charging handle is what loads the bullet from the mag, and if it gets stuck/difficult to puch forward, the forward assist will help push the round into the chanber.   Does the Charging handle return to the forward position by itself, or do you pull back, and shove it forward?  Thanks!

Slingshot method.

Pull to the rear and release.  It will do the rest from there.

yes the charging handle returns to the foward position by itself, it only needs to be pulled backward
